Coming September 2011
An excerpt from Through Tears Today, Poems by K. Hunka-Scarrott.
Two Hundred Thirteen
Pull all the thoughts out of my head
And pick all the words out of my speech.
Scatter them any way you like.
The picture is always of you.
Pull all the veins out of my head
And take all the blood out of my heart.
Pour it any way you like:
It flows the color of your eyes.
Pull all the music out of my head
And suck every melody out of my soul.
Play it any way you like.
The notes are always for you.
Pull all the moments out of my head
And squeeze every image from my eyes.
Throw them any way you like.
The picture is always of you.
Pull all the breath out of my chest
And suck all the life out of my days.
Pile it up any way that you like.
There you will always stand.
